Obervations from Carpet Cleaning in london

My definition of West London is based on carpet cleaning over the last few years. You could say West (as well as South London , East London and North London ) are more a type of place than somewhere defined by boundaries.

I would say that West London begins around the Edgware rd and heads West from there. Paddington (W2) and Maida Vale (W9) would be the most Easterly part of West London not Westminster (W1) I think most people would class that as central London. Parts of North West London such as Belsize Park and Hampstead are, to this carpet cleaner, more North London than West London.

Paddington used to be quite a rough place but billions of pounds have recently been piled into the area in the form of the Paddington basin - smart offices and flats located right next to Marlyebone. Going West, the areas tend to be quite wealthy. Wealth usually means quality carpets. One must be carefull not to damage these as we're talking thousands of pounds. I'm referring to areas such as Notting Hill (W11) and South Kensington (W8) and Chelsea. Despite that the Northern part of Notting Hill (Holland Park) can be surprisingly rough.

Earl's court(SW5) West Kensington and Olympia are similar, lot's of rental properties. For carpet cleaning this usually means lower quality carpets and lots of stains. On the plus side often the property is empy when you clean the carpet.

West and North from Earl's court varies greatly. Go along the A4 and you're into Hammersmith (W6) - a schizophrenic place where a big problem for the carpet cleaner is parking. Chiswick (W4) is a great area as is Twickenham (KT1) and Barnes (SW13) Lots of big houses makes profitable work for carpet cleaners.

As you get to Shepherd's bush (W12), White City (W12) and Brentford. Acton (W3) and Ealing (W13) you notice more diverse communities. I've cleaned many carpets in these are. I've cleaned some awful carpets in Shepherd's bush (w12) Head North through various industrial parks towards Harlesden and willesden (NW3) Never cleaned many carpets in these areas but one thing I liked was the variety of food available.

Further South West from cleaing carpets in Chiswick (w4) and Brentford you get to places such as Twickenham (TW1) Kingston(KT1) and Richmond. Quality carpet cleaning area where high standards of carpet cleaning are required.
